{"id":44673,"date":"2017-04-19T08:48:33","date_gmt":"2017-04-19T06:48:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=44673"},"modified":"2017-04-19T08:48:34","modified_gmt":"2017-04-19T06:48:34","slug":"south-africa-based-boxers-cleared","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2017\/04\/19\/south-africa-based-boxers-cleared\/","title":{"rendered":"South Africa-based boxers cleared"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Malawi Professional Boxing Control Board (MPBCB) has cleared South Africa-based boxers, Ernest Msoliza and Bright Mdoka, to vie for the board\u2019s sanctioned fights.<\/p>\n<p>The boxers, who relocated to South Africa last year in search for greener pastures, were the subject of speculations over their eligibility for fights in Malawi.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, Msoliza has dared Limbani Masamba for a national welterweight title fight next month at M1 Centre Point in Lilongwe.<\/p>\n<p>The board\u2019s spokesperson, Frank Chibisa, said the pair was still licensed by the board.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou might be aware that professional boxing is a business, so the two left for South Africa to seek new boxing opportunities. However, they are still licensed by us. They are our boxers and eligible to contest for our belts,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Msoliza said he was now determined to face Masamba during the welterweight title.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe clearance gives me a boost to concentrate on my preparations.
