If I were asked to whimsically describe Samsung Electronics’ newborn, I would make haste to say that it is bigger-than-life smartphone with an Infinity Display.

What the heck is Infinity Display? I have no better rhyme than Samsung’s spin doctors’: “End-to-end screen that spills over the phones sides, forming a completely smooth continues surface with no bumps or angles; it is pure pristine uninterruptible glass”.

In a straight-forward Queens language, what is being said here is that Samsung S8 display has almost no bezel; that wasted space that usually is real estate for physical or soft buttons. It is for this reason that Galaxy S8 graces no physical buttons; they are all changeable software versions; you can rearrange them in any order.

This display is not only big, 5.8-inches, it is the best there is. Hold on; that is not my appraisal; it is Display Mate’s. To put it into prospective, Samsung Galaxy S8 display makes the iPhone 7’s, Google Pixel’s and LG G6’s shy. According to Samsung, the Infinity Amoled display turns Galaxy S8 into a dazzling curved and completely symmetrical singular object (emphasis is mine).

The smartphone is muscular; why not with the world’s first 10nm processor inside? Small chip yet endowed with a bumper transistor count. So, powerful yet sympathetic to the battery.

Samsung galaxy S8 is both dust and water resistant; you can dance in the rain with it. It is a damsel whose skin is made of pearls and pimples shy away from it. And there is Samsung’s kind of Cortana, Bixby; you do not have to ask, show Bixby a picture of what you want and thus it.

A fingerprint scanner ridiculously resides on the back, by the camera; hard to locate. You need not to plug in cables to charge Samsung Galaxy S8; it uses wireless charging.

The phone is outfitted differently depending on where it is located; Midnight orchard gray and arctic silver for UK and US markets and for other regions, maple gold and coral blue.

Samsung Galaxy S8 slickly partners with Samsung Dex; hook your mobile into the hub and connect it to huge display and behold it morphs into an Android desktop. You can up the ante with Citrix /Amazon Workplace that enables you to connect to your office computer.

Be aware though, the boot up process for the virtual PC is slower with blips along the way to remind you that it is not a complete glorious PC. AKG headphones that, according to the South Korean company, errs not too hard on bass side are part of the bundle.

Finally, how much? The answer is that it is so far the most expensive smartphone; K600, 000 when Sky Electronics or IT Centre makes the order. The rest is for you to guess. Perhaps, you ain’t seen anything just yet, iPhone 8 is lurking in the horizon.

No need to speculate anymore; Samsung Galaxy S8 now dwells in our midst.
