{"id":44094,"date":"2017-04-09T14:16:53","date_gmt":"2017-04-09T12:16:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=44094"},"modified":"2017-04-09T14:17:00","modified_gmt":"2017-04-09T12:17:00","slug":"silver-strikers-host-mozambican-team","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2017\/04\/09\/silver-strikers-host-mozambican-team\/","title":{"rendered":"Silver Strikers host Mozambican team"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Capital City giants Silver Strikers have gone a step farther in their preparations for the 2017 season by engaging a Mozambican team, Planet FC, in their pre-season friendlies.<\/p>\n<p>The Beira-based side was expected in the country yesterday ahead of the match at Area 30\u2019s Nankhaka Ground this afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>Silver General Secretary, Thabo Nyirenda, said his players are hoping to redeem themselves after back-to-back losses in the past two weeks.<\/p>\n<p>The bankers were beaten 2-1 by Be Forward Wanderers at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre last week as both teams stepped up their preparations for the new season.<\/p>\n<p>Two weeks ago, the Reserve Bank-sponsored side failed to register a win after Kamuzu Barracks defeated them 1-0 before Nyasa Big Bullets condemned them to a 5-4 post-match penalty loss.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Mozambicans asked to play us and we accepted. It will help to face a team that plays a different brand of football.
