For all the early promise in his boxing career, Kudakwache Banda\u2019s free-fall continued on Sunday when he suffered his third consecutive defeat.<\/p>\n
Blossoming Simione Tcheta knocked out Kudakwache in the first round of an eight-round non-title bout at M1 Centre Point in Lilongwe.<\/p>\n
Kudakwache was touted as the next big thing in the middleweight category but the defeats should be a wake-up call to the fading star.<\/p>\n
The bout, which was supposed to last for 24 minutes, ended with only two jabs from Tcheta.<\/p>\n
Reports indicate that Tcheta was simply too good for Kudakwache.<\/p>\n
In the first minute, Kudakwache gave his fans false hopes. However, Tcheta unleashed a powerful punch that sent Kudakwache sprawling on the canvas.<\/p>\n
After staggering to a count down from referee, Leonard Metazama, Tcheta continued from where he stopped by unleashing heavy punches.<\/p>\n
Kudakwache fell for the second time and he failed to beat the 10-second count.<\/p>\n
After the loss, Kudakwache just walked away in disappointment.<\/p>\n
But Tcheta was delighted with the victory.<\/p>\n
\u201cMr Mike Chimaliza [promoter] made Kudakwache grow but he has messed it up and I requested him [Chimaliza] to give me a chance. I told Kudakwache to train hard but I think his time is over,\u201d Tcheta said.<\/p>\n
Following the loss, Kudakwache has won 12 fights and lost thrice whereas Tcheta has five wins and a loss in the professional ranks.<\/p>\n
In other bouts, Limbani Chikapa defeated Mudi Kuminga on points whereas Alexander Likande retired against Byson Gwayani. Yamikani Mkandawire defeated Romeo Makwakwa.<\/p>\n
