{"id":4362,"date":"2015-06-17T08:41:50","date_gmt":"2015-06-17T08:41:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=4362"},"modified":"2015-06-17T08:41:50","modified_gmt":"2015-06-17T08:41:50","slug":"world-vision-malawi-inspires-children","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2015\/06\/17\/world-vision-malawi-inspires-children\/","title":{"rendered":"World Vision Malawi inspires children"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>World Vision Malawi (WVM) has called on learners in the country to devise plans for their lives that will see them being successful citizens in future.<\/p>\n<p>WVM Zomba Cluster Manager, Ndamyo Ngosi, said this during a three-day training workshop of school-going children from Chingale Zone held at Liwonde in Machinga.<\/p>\n<p>Ngosi said the learners can get a lot from different professionals such as journalists whose work touches many lives.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am sure every student has a career in mind and for you to succeed in such ambitions, you have to make sure you work hard in class so that you pass well in various subjects,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on how relevant the training was, 17-year-old Loveness Ignazio from St Bridget Community Secondary School said the learners benefited a lot from the meeting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was nice to attend such training because we are now able to differentiate between rights to life, education and other major human rights. Other pupils dropped out of school in our areas because they were scared of their ages as you already know that one can be 15 years old but still in standard seven,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>In his remarks, Assistant Social Welfare Officer for Zomba, Francis Tutu, said plans to fight traditional practices that negatively affect children\u2019s learning are at an advanced stage.<\/p>\n<p>Students from four secondary schools and pupils from 19 primary schools were drilled in different skills during the training.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>World Vision Malawi (WVM) has called on learners in the country to devise plans for their lives that will see them being successful citizens in future.
