Nyasa Big Bullets have denied reports that they have signed Be Forward Wanderers\u2019 attacker Jabulani Linje.<\/p>\n
The reports were rife following the expiry of Linje\u2019s contract at the Lali Lubani Road, but Bullets General Secretary, Albert Chigoga, said they have never made advances on the player.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am surprised as to where this story is coming from. As a team, we cannot just buy players based on what people and other supporters want. We will get players based on recommendations by our coaches,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Reports also indicate that among the players in The People\u2019s Team camp are Mischeck Botomani and Dave Banda [not related to the Kamuzu Barracks captain] from Southern Region league teams Mitra Icons and Nsanama, respectively.<\/p>\n
Botomani and Banda won the Golden Boot awards last season after scoring 44 and 42 goals in the Premier Division and Division One, respectively.<\/p>\n
Bullets are also courting Chitipa United and Malawi Under-20 National Football Team striker Abel Mwakilama. However, the youngster is training with Moyale Barracks.<\/p>\n
Recently, Bullets Chairperson, Noel Lipipa, said they had budgeted K17 million for buying new players.<\/p>\n
Bullets have only signed midfielder Chimango Kayira who was a free agent after leaving Mozambican side Costa do Sol.<\/p>\n
Wanderers General Secretary, Mike Butao, was not readily available for a comment on Linje\u2019s status with the Nomads whereas Team Manager Steve Madeira refused to comment on the issue.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
