Malawi Defence Force boxer, Wilson Masamba, has intensified preparations ahead of his non-title bout against Zimbabwean Richard Muriri at M1 Centre Point in Lilongwe on March 26.<\/p>\n
Masamba said he was ready for his first international bout this year.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am in camp preparing for the fight and I am not scared of any opponent. I want to give my fans a 2017 gift and they should come in large numbers. I thank Galasasi Engineering for organising the bout,\u201d said the boxer, who boasts of 27 wins and 11 losses.<\/p>\n
Muliri has won 27 bouts and lost 10.<\/p>\n
In his last international bout, Masamba defeated Tanzanian Muddy Elia at the same venue.<\/p>\n
The experienced Malawian boxer is being drilled by his elder brother and trainer John Masamba.<\/p>\n
In the main supporting bouts, another Zimbabwean, Tinashe Mwadziwana will meet veteran Jobson Adam whereas Chimwemwe Chiotcha will slug it out against Juma Jack.<\/p>\n
Malawi Boxing Association (Maba) professional wing has sanctioned the bouts.<\/p>\n
The wing\u2019s Chairperson, Daudi Chikwanje, said preparations for the bout were at an advanced stage.<\/p>\n
\u201cPeople should expect a classic tournament. We have brought in reputable boxers for the fight,\u201d Chikwanje said.<\/p>\n
