Tay Grin\u2019s new single \u2018Tola\u2019 beamed on Trace Africa on Monday.<\/p>\n
The music video, which was released Monday, was shot in South Africa,<\/p>\n
The song, which features Tanzanian song stress, Vanessa Mdee, was produced by Malawian producer Sonyezo and was directed by Nigeria\u2019s Sesan Ogunro\u2014one of Africa\u2019s greatest video directors.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s an A list team on this project. It was fire all over in the studio as we made the audio, fire as we made the video and now it\u2019s that time we unleash that fire. 2017 is fire everywhere. We are taking Malawi to the world in HD,\u201d Tay Grin said.<\/p>\n
Tay Grin and Vee Money teamed up on the first day of this year to record \u2018Tola\u2019 when the Tanzanian vocalist was in Malawi for the New Year\u2019s Party in Lilongwe on December 31. The party was organised by Black Rhyno Entertainment.<\/p>\n
Tay Grin has been in the spotlight after putting out his 2016 smash hit s \u2018Chipapapa\u2019 featuring 2Baba, \u2018Kanda\u2019 featuring Sonyezo and Nigerian Orezi as well as \u2018Sugar Mami\u2019 featuring Sonyezo and Zambia\u2019s Roberto.<\/p>\n
The hip-hop star is billed to perform at Iceland\u2019s music festival, Secret Solstice, in June alongside global music superstars\u2014 among them Rick Ross, Big Sean, Pharoahe Monch, Chaka Khan and Young M.A.<\/p>\n
Tay Grin is the first Malawian to be enlisted to perform at the festival and is the only artist from Africa billed to entertain patrons with African music.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
