{"id":42731,"date":"2017-03-18T08:09:12","date_gmt":"2017-03-18T06:09:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=42731"},"modified":"2017-03-18T08:09:13","modified_gmt":"2017-03-18T06:09:13","slug":"yamikani-chester-to-cost-k10-million","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2017\/03\/18\/yamikani-chester-to-cost-k10-million\/","title":{"rendered":"Yamikani Chester to cost K10 million"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Super League giants Nyasa Big Bullets and Be Forward Wanderers are among teams that are increasingly becoming frustrated in their pursuit of Azam Tigers want-away playmaker, Yamikani Chester.<\/p>\n<p>Tigers are reportedly looking for K6 million transfer fees whereas the player wants K4 million signing-on fees.<\/p>\n<p>It means the on-and-off Flames midfielder will cost K10 million to prize away from Tigers.<\/p>\n<p>Chester, who has been a revelation for Tigers in the last two Super League seasons, has been linked with moves to Bullets, Wanderers, Silver Strikers and newly promoted Masters Security.<\/p>\n<p>Sources close to Chester said a delegation from Bullets was shocked with the signing-on fees.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBullets thought that they were close to signing him but they were shocked with the amount of signing-on fee he was demanding. They told him that if he was a regular with the Flames maybe the amount could have made sense. At this moment, it is the amount that is prohibiting clubs from sealing his deal,\u201d said a source close to the player.<\/p>\n<p>Bullets Interim General Secretary, Albert Chigoga, could neither confirm nor deny that the club\u2019s delegation suffered a setback when they met Chester.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI cannot say if we are after Chester or not. However, I have also heard that he is demanding a lot, which I feel is outrageous for any local team,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the meantime, we will only concentrate on what we have. We are also closing in on the transfer targets which our coach [Nsanzurwimo Ramadhan] recommended.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wanderers General Secretary, Mike Butao, was reluctant to confirm if they were after Chester\u2019s signature, insisting that the club only makes remarks after signing a player.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo begin with, every player has the right to demand what he thinks he is worth. At the moment, I cannot comment on issues regarding a player we have not signed,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Tigers Technical Director, Robin Alufandika, warned potential suitors to expect an exorbitant transfer fee.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGood things do not come on a silver platter. Anyone who is willing to buy the player should be prepared to cough enough and dig deeper into their coffers.
