Kenya-based musician Marco Sadik is in town ahead of his concerts in Lilongwe and Blantyre.<\/p>\n
The dreadlocked musician who finished his music studies last year in Amsterdam, Netherlands also revealed that he is currently working on his third album titled Nsanje.<\/p>\n
Sadik warmed up for his upcoming shows on Saturday when he dished out two songs sharing the stage with Ben Mankhamba at Chez Macky in Blantyre.<\/p>\n
\u201c I am in town as you know I have some shows, it\u2019s been some time since I performed in the country and so this gives me an opportunity to give my fans new songs as you know I am working on my new album,\u201d said the musician famed for the hit \u2018Linda.\u2019<\/p>\n
Sadik showed potential during the warm up when he performed alone showing his vocal prowess as well as his guitar skills. He performed the hit \u2018Linda,\u2019 but using an acoustic guitar the song came out fresh.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor your information I have released already released two singles, one is titled \u2018Amafuna Chikondi,\u2019 and the other is \u2018If You Let Me,\u2019 which hit the airwaves on Friday. I am happy with the way things are going and to the other side the break which I took in doing school has really helped me to come back bigger and better,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The musician will hold his first show at Chameleone in Lilongwe on June 27 and then his second at Chez Macky in Blantyre on July 3 with the last act on July 4 at Mibawa Caf\u00e9.<\/p>\n
\u201cI just want to appeal to fellow artists that they should always strive for the best and take their time when working on songs or albums. It is also time for us as artists to look at music as a business. This is the focus for me, doing music as a business,\u201d said the singer and guitarist.<\/p>\n
He added that his third album Nsanje <\/em>is a continuation of his previous two albums Umodzi <\/em>and Zanga <\/em>in which he is speaking about love.<\/p>\n \u201cMy focus is love and this is what I also did in my previous albums, love conquers everything and so my appeal to Malawians is lets love one another and be supportive of each other and avoid pushing each other down,\u201d said Sadik.<\/p>\n Sadik last year also came to the limelight when he complained on the issue of caller tunes which he noted were not benefiting musicians.<\/p>\n He called on Copyright Society of Malawi (Cosoma) and Musicians Union of Malawi (Mum) to take up the issue and rectify the anomalies so that musicians benefit from the caller tunes.<\/p>\n Sadik\u2019s outcry also followed complaints from other artists who also said they were not benefiting anything from the caller tunes despite their songs being used<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Kenya-based musician Marco Sadik is in town ahead of his concerts in Lilongwe and Blantyre.
