{"id":42289,"date":"2017-03-12T08:57:45","date_gmt":"2017-03-12T06:57:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=42289"},"modified":"2017-03-12T08:57:47","modified_gmt":"2017-03-12T06:57:47","slug":"karonga-ready-for-simama-premier","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2017\/03\/12\/karonga-ready-for-simama-premier\/","title":{"rendered":"Karonga ready for Simama Premier"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KARONGA United have started their preparations for life in the Simama Premier Division following their relegation from the TNM Super League last season.<\/p>\n<p>It was Karonga\u2019s second relegation having experienced the same fate in the 2014 campaign. Karonga General Secretary, Ralph Kafilirika, said he was confident in the team\u2019s return to the Super League in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>He said Karonga learnt a lot from their experience of playing in the Super League. Kafilirika hoped that their Super League experience could work to their advantage in the Premier Division.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have to put the disappointment of last year behind us and forge ahead and work towards one goal\u2014to get back in the Super League next year,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He said the team would first seek to find replacements for their former defender Hygiene Mwandepeka who joined Silver Strikers. Karonga also lost Khumbo and Green Msowoya (not related) to Masters Security FC.<\/p>\n<p>Kafilirika is, however, cautious that the 2017 Simama Premier Division campaign will not be a walkover for the wounded Crocodiles. \u201cIt is tough to play in Simama than in Super League where you only play 30 games,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut for you to win the regional crown it means you have to pay 40 games, which is quite difficult because there are so many teams involved.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KARONGA United have started their preparations for life in the Simama Premier Division following their relegation from the TNM Super League last season.
