Local coaches who are holders of Caf A Coaching licences stand a chance to get jobs outside the country.<\/p>\n
Football Association of Malawi (Fam) Technical Director, John Kaputa, said his counterparts in countries such as Mozambique, Swaziland and Tanzania have been enquiring on the possibility of employing Malawian coaches.<\/p>\n
Malawi\u2019s pool of Caf A Licence holders increased with the passing of all 25 coaches who attended last year\u2019s course in Blantyre.<\/p>\n
Among the instructors at the course were Kaputa, Fam Referees Director Maxwell Mtonga, renowned team doctor Levison Mwale, Caf coaches instructor Eddingtone Ng\u2019onamo and Zambian Honour Chanza.<\/p>\n
Kaputa described interest expressed by foreign officials as an indication of the confidence football associations in other countries have in Malawian coaches.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe good performance of our coaches in Caf courses is bearing fruits. My fellow technical directors in other countries are knocking on my door asking for the services of these coaches. It is good that the potential of our coaches is being appreciated by others,\u201d Kaputa said.<\/p>\n
One of the coaches who have worked outside the country, Franco Ndawa, welcomed the news and encouraged Fam to market local coaches so that they learn new techniques of the game.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe may have all the top qualifications in the game, but working in another country teaches you new tricks. Different countries have different approaches to games and we need to enrich our knowledge in such areas,\u201d Ndawa said.<\/p>\n
The former Nyasa Big Bullets mentor said, with discipline and dedication, local coaches can perform wonders anywhere on the continent.<\/p>\n
South African-based former Flames stalwarts, Patrick Mabedi, John Maduka and Tanzania-based Kinnah Phiri, are the only Malawian coaches working outside the country.<\/p>\n
Other local coaches who have had stints in foreign lands are Charles Manda, Jack Chamangwana and Meke Mwase.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
