Former Nyasa Big Bullets goalkeeper Vincent Gona is unsure of his return to action after undergoing back surgery last October.<\/p>\n
Gona Wednesday said he was on the recovery path following his surgery at Beit Cure International Hospital for the injury he suffered in 2015 season during a cup game against Epac.<\/p>\n
\u201cI can jog for a few laps but the question of my return is dependent on the doctors\u2019 advice. All they told me was to go for physiotherapy, and I have been doing that for two months,\u201d said the former Azam Tigers player.<\/p>\n
Being away from football has posed a challenge to the life of Gona, who admitted that he was struggling to make ends meet.<\/p>\n
Nonetheless, the towering custodian is grateful to Bullets\u2019 management for paying for his medical bills.<\/p>\n
\u201cBullets officials also do pay for my rentals and I am very grateful for that. However, we footballers earn more from game bonuses and being out of action means a shrinkage in the income,\u201d Gona explained.<\/p>\n
The keeper, who has the physique and sound mastery of the basics desirable of his position, should have in the 2017 season offered Bullets cover in the goalkeeping department which appears thin.<\/p>\n
Last season, Bullets at one point improvised the then goalkeepers\u2019 trainer, Swadick Sanudi, after Ernest Kakhobwe was injured while his number two Chimwemwe Kumkwawa was suspended.<\/p>\n
