Combatant Wilson Masamba will face Zimbabwean boxer, Richard Muliri, in an international fight on March 26 at M1 Centre point in Lilongwe.<\/p>\n
Malawi Boxing Association (Maba)- professional wing has organised the bout in what is a u-turn for Masamba.<\/p>\n
The boxer told the media last week that he was returning to the Malawi Professional Boxing Control Board, saying Maba\u2019s professional boxing wing was not ready to sanction professional bouts.<\/p>\n
However, in the latest change of mind, Masamba has now said he is looking forward to the fight.<\/p>\n
\u201cI would like to thank Maba for organising the fight. Actually, I have started preparations,\u201d Masamba said.<\/p>\n
Maba Professional wing Chairperson, Daud Chikwanje, said the bout has been organised to keep boxers active.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt will also help our boxers to gain international exposure. Masamba is an experienced boxer. We have no doubt that he would perform well during the bout,\u201d Chikwanje said.<\/p>\n
In the main supporting bout, United Kingdom-based boxer, Philip Gabriel will slug it out against Chimwemwe Chiotcha.<\/p>\n
The boxers signed contracts for the bout on Tuesday in Lilongwe.<\/p>\n
Chiotcha also expressed his gratitude to Maba for organising the fights.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is great news to us. Gabriel is a great boxer and I know it will be one of my toughest bouts in my career,\u201d Chiotcha said.<\/p>\n
In another bout, Alick Chitepete will meet George Kandulu.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Masamba, Chiotcha and Musa Ajibu have maintained that they still belong to Maba.<\/p>\n
The three boxers have since appealed to the two bodies, Maba and MPBCB, to resolve their differences for the good of the sport.<\/p>\n
