{"id":41816,"date":"2017-03-05T07:55:03","date_gmt":"2017-03-05T05:55:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=41816"},"modified":"2017-03-05T07:55:03","modified_gmt":"2017-03-05T05:55:03","slug":"kachali-asks-clerics-not-to-resist-transfers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2017\/03\/05\/kachali-asks-clerics-not-to-resist-transfers\/","title":{"rendered":"Kachali asks clerics not to resist transfers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FORMER Vice President Khumbo Kachali has told church ministers to resist transfers and stressed that it was important also that synod leaders should follow procedures when shifting the clerics around.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking as guest of honour at the induction of a new minister at Livingstonia Synod\u2019s Lilongwe Congregation, Kachali also pleaded with christians to pray for an end to corruption which he said was rampant in the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018When they want to remove you to another congregation do not resist. I also plead with synod leaders to follow right procedures when transferring a minister to another congregation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Kachali, who is also a Men\u2019s Guild member of the Livingstonia CCAP Church added that members of the church are embarrassed when wrangles over transfers emanate within the synod.<\/p>\n<p>Reverend Bellings Mtawali was inducted following the transfer of Reverend Maurice Munthali to Mzuzu.<\/p>\n<p>The induction was presided over by Livingstonia synod\u2019s moderator Reverend John Gondwe and General Secretary Reverend Dr Levi Nyondo.<\/p>\n<p>The induction was also attended by church ministers and pastors from Kaning\u2019a CCAP of the Nkhoma Synod, Area 47 Seventh Day Adventist, Secretary General of the INDUCTED\u2014Reverend Mtawali addressing the congregation and inset is Kachali CCAP General Assembly and Reverend Collen Mbawa.<\/p>\n<p>Reverend Gondwe advised the new minister to be humble because being a reverend is not a promotion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou should not have a best friend in the congregation but you should be there for everyone regardless of their social status,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Drawing his sermon from Genesis 7:14, Reverend Gondwe emphasised on the need for the congregation to assist the minister and let Jesus to be the guider. Speaking at the end of the function Reverend Nyondo asked the congregants to pray for the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is your duty as christians to pray for the country, and help in the fight against corruption because there is too much corruption,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Nyondo however urged the CCAP faithful to fast and pray against legalisation of abortion because it is a sin. He also said it was exciting that pastors and representatives from other denominations and religious groups graced the event.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEcumenism is good and I need to stress the fact that all the churches are fighting the same enemy, Satan,\u201d said Rev.
