{"id":41659,"date":"2017-03-02T08:08:07","date_gmt":"2017-03-02T06:08:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=41659"},"modified":"2017-03-02T08:08:08","modified_gmt":"2017-03-02T06:08:08","slug":"fdh-bank-pumps-k5-million-to-educate-girls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2017\/03\/02\/fdh-bank-pumps-k5-million-to-educate-girls\/","title":{"rendered":"FDH Bank pumps K5 million to educate girls"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>F<\/strong>DH Bank on Tuesday presented a cheque worth K5 million to the Advancing Girl Child Education (Age) Africa towards improving education of girls in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Age Africa is a non-governmental organisation working in some districts of the country to empower girls and equip them with relevant professional and technical skills.<\/p>\n<p>FDH Head of Marketing, Sobuza Ngwenya, presented the cheque to the organisation at an event held at Providence Secondary School.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen we looked at the programmes of Age Africa, we realised that the organisation has a unique way of empowering the girls, hence the support,\u201d Ngwenya said.<\/p>\n<p>He said with the funding, the organisation will provide scholarships and bursaries to vulnerable girls at different levels.<\/p>\n<p>Age Africa Executive Director, Gertrude Kabwazi, commended the bank for the gesture, saying the funding will go a long way towards improving the education of girls.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith the funding, we will be helping the girls in the country towards improving quality education.
