I have made [the] decision in my personal capacity. I wish thè team all thè best considering that I am engaged in personal businesses to run hence [there is] no much time to dedicate to thè team and affairs of thè team,” Madeya said in a letter to the trustees.

However, there was no official confirmation of Madeya’s resignation from the Bullets’ trustees’ General Secretary, Jim Kalua, whose future in the team also remains unclear as he has chosen to remain mute in view of the twists and turns.

Madeya and Busile’s exit leaves the board with Kalua, Malinda Chinyama, Victor Msowoya, Gaston Mwenelupembe, Fred Kwacha and Mary Chenda Mkandawire as trustees.

Chinyama, who is for the hiring of permanent staff to man the secretariat and fast-track the commercialisation in line with the Club Licensing System, also reserved his comment when contacted on Tuesday.

Bullets emerged from the recent Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Zomba so divided on whether to hold executive committee elections or not.

Saturday’s meeting involving the trustees and the Supporters’Committee appeared to have mended fences that the elections can go ahead on March 18.

However, what has sparked more divisions is the Lilongwe meeting’s other resolution that the elections should involve all positions save for the posts of general secretary and treasurer which have been scrapped off so as to hire a publicity secretary and an accountant.

Other sections of the team have described the meeting in Lilongwe as lacking the mandate to decide on the posts of general secretary and treasurer, saying only an AGM was mandated to come up with such a decision.

There is no doubt that the boardroom crisis might affect the playing staff which is readying for the new season.

The uncertainty in the board has led to some indifference on the transfer market with only Chimango Kayira as the new signing.

With 13 Super League titles, Bullets are the country’s most successful club but the team does not have real estate, not even a training ground.

Nyasa Big Bullets’ board of trustees faces depletion after yet another member threw in the towel on Tuesday following resistance to the club’s commercialisation drive by a section of the People’s Team’s fans.
