Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Member of Parliament for Lilongwe Mapuyu South Constituency, Joseph Njobvuyalema, is in dilemma on whether he is out of the party\u2019s National Executive Committee (Nec) or not.<\/p>\n
MCP Second Deputy Secretary General, Eisenhower Mkaka, told The Daily Times <\/em>last week that, after analysing the report from the disciplinary committee, Nec members decided to restore the membership of Njobvuyalema and his fellow lawmaker for Salima North West Constituency, Jessie Kabwila, but decided against restoring them to their respective Nec positions.<\/p>\n Mkaka said the Nec meeting the party held on February 11 2017 resolved not to restore Kabwila as party publicity secretary and Njobvuyalema, as deputy director of international affairs.<\/p>\n But letters of reinstatement dated February 13 2017 and signed by party administrative secretary Potiphar Chidaya\u2014are silent on their firing from Nec.<\/p>\n \u201cI write to convey to you the decision of the National Executive Committee made on Saturday, 11th February. The National Executive Committee met at National Headquarters and resolved to reinstate you as member of Malawi Congress Party. May the Almighty God be with you today and always,\u201d read the letters, which were copied to the party president and sent to the two legislators.<\/p>\n Asked about the development, Njobvuyalema chose his words carefully.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat is not in black and white does not exist,\u201d Njobvuyalema said.<\/p>\n Chidaya refused to comment on the positions, saying the issue of who holds what position in the party was not necessary.<\/p>\n \u201cOther positions follow membership.
