Mobile and ICT services provider TNM Limited, last week donated K1 million towards the Malawi Law Society (MLS)\u2019s conference and Annual General Meeting scheduled to take place from February 23 to 25 at Sunbird Nkopola in Mangochi.<\/p>\n
TNM\u2019s Vice Board Chairperson, Hitesh Anadkat, is expected to deliver the key note address at the conference themed Promoting sustainable economic development in Malawi through a sound legal and regulatory investment framework.<\/p>\n
TNM\u2019s Managing Executive (Legal), Christina Mwansa, said the company realises the important role MLS plays in promoting justice and good governance in the country.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe realise the critical role such meetings and interactions play in enhancing good governance and human rights in the country hence our contribution towards the same,\u2019 Mwansa said.<\/p>\n
She also hailed MLS for the role it plays in enhancing ethical and professional conduct of legal practitioners in the country.<\/p>\n
Malawi Law Society President, John Suzi Banda, hailed TNM for the donation saying it had come at the right time when the Society is facing shortage of finances due to various programs it is implementing.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs a Society we are facing financial challenges as we are implementing various projects in the country, so this gesture by TNM will go a long way in ensuring that we have a successful meeting,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
