{"id":40997,"date":"2017-02-20T08:19:32","date_gmt":"2017-02-20T06:19:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=40997"},"modified":"2017-02-20T08:19:33","modified_gmt":"2017-02-20T06:19:33","slug":"tay-grin-inspires-learners-on-gender-equality","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2017\/02\/20\/tay-grin-inspires-learners-on-gender-equality\/","title":{"rendered":"Tay Grin inspires learners on gender equality"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tay Grin has been chosen by UN Women to inspire boys on gender equality through the HeForShe initiative.<\/p>\n<p>HeForShe is a unity movement by UN Women for Gender Equality which calls upon men and boys to view women and girls as partners.<\/p>\n<p>Tay Grin, famed for hits such as \u2018Chipapapa\u2019 recently took the HeForShe initiative to Mtakataka Primary School in Dedza.<\/p>\n<p>UN Women Representative, Clara Anyangwe, said her organisation aims to encourage boys not to sideline girls in the society.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUN Women plans to join hands with other UN Agencies and stakeholders to achieve social and behavioural change of boys at primary level. We want to step forward as agents of change in the development of the country,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>In his remarks Tay Grin said there is need for equal opportunities among boys and girls.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGirls and boys are equal.
