{"id":40725,"date":"2017-02-14T11:28:47","date_gmt":"2017-02-14T09:28:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=40725"},"modified":"2017-02-14T11:28:48","modified_gmt":"2017-02-14T09:28:48","slug":"malawi-paralympics-in-talent-search","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2017\/02\/14\/malawi-paralympics-in-talent-search\/","title":{"rendered":"Malawi Paralympics in talent search"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Malawi Paralympic Committee through its arm, the Para Athletics Committee (PAC), has kicked off an athletes\u2019 identification exercise in readiness for the 2020 Paralympics Games in Japan.\u00a0The committee has since identified six athletes who will compete at the regional level at Mulanje District Council Ground on Saturday.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Speaking after the event, PAC\u2019s Chairperson, Joseph Galanje, said he was satisfied with the outcome of the trials.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am impressed with the athletes that have been unearthed as they have the quality to excel. They just need to be polished up and be given the necessary training,\u201d Galanje said.<\/p>\n<p>He said the association\u2019s main aim is to unearth the best athletes capable of bringing medals from international events.<\/p>\n<p>The athletes were identified through short distance competitions that take places in various locations.
