{"id":40454,"date":"2017-02-09T09:47:06","date_gmt":"2017-02-09T07:47:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=40454"},"modified":"2017-02-09T09:47:06","modified_gmt":"2017-02-09T07:47:06","slug":"gabadihno-mhango-eyes-golden-boot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2017\/02\/09\/gabadihno-mhango-eyes-golden-boot\/","title":{"rendered":"Gabadihno Mhango eyes golden boot"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Flame\u2019s striker Gabadihno Mhango has set his sights on winning South Africa Absa Premier Soccer League (PSL) this season after grabbing a brace on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n<p>He came off the bench to score a double as Bidvest Wits trounced Ajax Cape Town 5-0 at Milpark Stadium in Johanesburg through Phakamani Mahlambi, James Keene and Captain Thulani Hlatshwayo\u2019s goals.<\/p>\n<p>Mhango is now the leading Malawian scorer in the PSL with five goals, one above compatriot Robert Ng\u2019ambi whereas Atusaye Nyondo has a single goal this season.<\/p>\n<p>Mhango faces a daunting task to overtake current PSL leading scorer, Zimbabwean Tendai Ndoro of Orlando Pirates who has 11 goals.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview from South Africa yesterday, Mhango said he was delighted with his display.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am really happy to score two goals. I will work hard to fight for the top goal scorer award and also help my team to compete for championship,\u201d Mhango said.<\/p>\n<p>Wits claimed top spot with 28 points from 14 games, one point above Cape Town City FC, who have played two games more.<\/p>\n<p>Kaizer Chiefs are third with 27 points from 16 games.<\/p>\n<p>Last season, Mhango scored five goals while on loan at Golden Arrows.<\/p>\n<p>In his debut season in 2013 while playing for Bloemfontein Celtic, Mhango finished as the second top scorer with nine goals, two behind Bernard Parker.<\/p>\n<p>He won Celtic\u2019s Golden Boot Award and Celtic Players\u2019 Player of-the Season Award.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Flame\u2019s striker Gabadihno Mhango has set his sights on winning South Africa Absa Premier Soccer League (PSL) this season after grabbing a brace on Tuesday night.
