{"id":40387,"date":"2017-02-08T09:50:30","date_gmt":"2017-02-08T07:50:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=40387"},"modified":"2017-02-08T09:50:31","modified_gmt":"2017-02-08T07:50:31","slug":"silver-strikers-set-to-raid-premier-bet-wizards-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2017\/02\/08\/silver-strikers-set-to-raid-premier-bet-wizards-again\/","title":{"rendered":"Silver Strikers set to raid Premier Bet Wizards again"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After signing four players from Premier Bet Wizards FC last season, Capital City giants, Silver Strikers, are reportedly interested in signing two more players from the club.<\/p>\n<p>Details have emerged that the Central Bankers, who are on a rebuilding exercise, want to sign Wizards\u2019 Captain, Trevor Kalema and forward Patrick Phiri.<\/p>\n<p>Kalema and Phiri\u2019s contracts are reportedly set to expire before the start of the new season in April 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Silver\u2019s interim General Secretary, Thabo Nyirenda, was reluctant to comment on the matter, he referred this reporter to the club\u2019s Chairperson, Ralph Tseka.<\/p>\n<p>Tseka insisted that apart from signing defender, Hygiene Mwandepeka and eyeing a striker, Silver will not be very active in this transfer window.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were already busy last season when we brought in many players,\u201d Tseka said.<\/p>\n<p>However, Silver\u2019s Coach, Lovemore Fazili, though refusing to be specific on the identities of the targeted players, admitted that his side would beef up with four players.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe might promote two players from the our Reserve Team and we are also targeting two players from other clubs,\u201d Fazili said.<\/p>\n<p>Silver lost captain, Lucky Malata, who joined Be Forward Wanderers on a three-year deal.<\/p>\n<p>Wizards\u2019 Technical Director and owner, Peter Mponda, though not confirming the discussions with Silver, said his club would not stop any player from joining a team of their choice provided procedures were followed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf they are free agents, Silver is free to speak to them. Wizards have never stood in any players\u2019 way. We wish them the best of luck,\u201d Mponda said.<\/p>\n<p>Kalema confirmed that he was into the last three months of his contract with Mponda\u2019s side.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSilver showed interest in signing me, but I told them to speak to my current club, so I do not know if they discussed or not,\u201d Kalema said.<\/p>\n<p>Last season, Silver signed from Wizards, exciting winger Thuso Paipi, Levison Maganizo, Yamikani Fodya, goalkeepers Steven Micheta and Brighton Munthali.<\/p>\n<p>Silver finished on position three in the TNM Super League and lost to Wanderers 4-3 on post-match penalties in the Carlsberg Cup final.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After signing four players from Premier Bet Wizards FC last season, Capital City giants, Silver Strikers, are reportedly interested in signing two more players from the club.
