The Central East African Railways (Cear) on Friday unveiled its new safety \u201cgolden rules\u201d aimed at narrowing risks and addressing safety concerns among staff members.<\/p>\n
The rules are an extension of documented safety measures the firm adopted few years ago.<\/p>\n
Cear Managing Director Hendry Chimwaza said after he unveiled the new 10 rules at Limbe offices that the step taken will help address safety concerns among staff members.<\/p>\n
He banks on adherence among the staff if the rules are to have an impact.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe golden rules involve change of attitude and adoption of safety working measures. If adhered to, the rules will significantly improve safety concerns,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He said prior to change of shareholding, \u201csafety was compromised until Vale came in\u201d.<\/p>\n
He said then, the business had no documented safety rules which made its staff susceptible to more accidents.<\/p>\n
\u201cSince the documentation we have seen a positive improvement. This is in line with the recommendations of the rest of compromise under Vale. We are putting emphasis on the life first,\u201d said Chimwaza.<\/p>\n
One staff member Samuel Matope, an inspector at the civil angering department commended the firm for putting emphasis on safety rules.<\/p>\n
