{"id":40301,"date":"2017-02-07T10:13:36","date_gmt":"2017-02-07T08:13:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=40301"},"modified":"2017-02-07T10:13:37","modified_gmt":"2017-02-07T08:13:37","slug":"be-forward-wanderers-amos-bellos-contract-talks-hit-a-snag","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2017\/02\/07\/be-forward-wanderers-amos-bellos-contract-talks-hit-a-snag\/","title":{"rendered":"Be Forward Wanderers, Amos Bello\u2019s contract talks hit a snag"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The future of Nigerian striker, Amos Bello, at Be Forward Wanderers is in doubt following the breakdown of contract renewal talks between the two parties.<\/p>\n<p>Wanderers\u2019 vice-Chairperson, Gift Mkandawire, Monday admitted that Bello, who scored three goals in all competitions last season, was making difficult demands.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to renew his contract but we are struggling as he is making all sorts of demands,\u201d said Mkandawire, who is responsible for players\u2019 contracts at the Lali Lubani Road.<\/p>\n<p>The talks have stalled a week after star midfielder, Joseph Kamwendo, tendered his resignation letter over alleged unfulfilled contractual obligations.<\/p>\n<p>Reports suggest that Bello, a hard-working striker good at taking on defenders, was eyeing a move to South Africa\u2019s First Division side, Black Leopards.<\/p>\n<p>The Nigerian, whose finishing is suspect, was elusive when contacted for a comment yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Wanderers are in danger of losing for free versatile forward Jabulani Linje, midfielders Isaac Kaliati, Mike Kaziputa, defender Stanley Sanudi, goalkeeper Richard Chipuwa and Captain Francis Mlimbika as their contracts will expire before the start of the season.<\/p>\n<p>Wanderers vice-Treasurer, Chulu Mkangama, said discussions have commenced with the players on extending their deals.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo far so good and we hope to retain all the best players. The discussions are at advanced stage,\u201d Mkangama said.<\/p>\n<p>Mlimbika, who moved to Wanderers from Msundwe United of Lilongwe in 2009, said the club wants to offer him a new deal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was told by the club that we will start discussing the issue any time. I am just waiting for the date of the meeting because the club said some of the officials travelled to Lilongwe on other assignments,\u201d Mlimbika said yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Linje, who joined Wanderers in 2015 from relegated Civo United, is reportedly on Silver Strikers\u2019 radar alongside youthful defender, Boston Kabango.<\/p>\n<p>Wanderers have already signed free agent, Lucky Malata,youngsters, Francisco Madinga and Precious Sambani.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The future of Nigerian striker, Amos Bello, at Be Forward Wanderers is in doubt following the breakdown of contract renewal talks between the two parties.
