Nyasa Big Bullets\u2019 Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at Gymkhana Club in Zomba on Saturday agreed to hold elections for the team\u2019s Executive Committee.<\/p>\n
The resolution, reached by over 400 delegates during the AGM, comes after the team\u2019s trustees earlier announced that the polls would be shelved to allow the club to embark on a commercialisation drive.<\/p>\n
But after presentation of reports, the delegates made it clear that they wanted the elections.<\/p>\n
This compelled the chairperson of the board of trustees, James Busile, to announce that the polls would be held at a date and venue to be communicated later.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is your team and we cannot disregard your say. This means that from today, I have also dissolved the current Executive Committee to allow aspiring candidates to campaign for the elections. However, Lipipa will remain the caretaker chairperson until the elections are held so that he can coordinate other activities as we are running out of time for the 2017 season,\u201d Busile said.<\/p>\n
During the AGM, Stone Mwamadi retained his position of Supporters\u2019 Committee Chairperson unopposed.<\/p>\n
\u201cI thank you Bullets\u2019 supporters for the confidence you have in me. I will not rest as my dream is to leave this post after fulfiling some things for the club like having our own bus and stadium,\u201d Mwamadi said.<\/p>\n
Delegates also agreed to wait for the new executive committee to finalise matters to do with the club\u2019s ownership.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
