National Salvation Front (Nasaf) has unveiled, Laudon Malingamoyo, as the party\u2019s interim president.<\/p>\n
His appointment follows the death of James Nyondo, the party\u2019s founder. Nyondo died in July 2015.<\/p>\n
Malingamoyo has said if voted into power, the party will strive to improve the country\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n
He said Malawi should embrace change in the country\u2019s leadership other than trusting recycled politicians who have failed the country.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have had many recycled politicians for a long time. Misplacement of leadership is an issue. Malawi has people that can lead, unfortunately those that can lead are just sitting down as a result we are just making complaints, I am here to bring change,\u201d he said<\/p>\n
Among other areas he has assured of addressing challenges that many key sectors of energy, agriculture, education and Health are facing and ensure that Malawians are not deprived of their right to public services.<\/p>\n
He further said the country can be self-reliant if issues of plundering public resources are dealt with.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe country is rich in minerals and other resources, if we can stop abuse of such resources, we can be able to sustain for ourselves. We as a party, believe that the time is now to do more than ever before in the history of our beloved country,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Malingamoyo was an interim vice president of Nthanda Congress Party (NCP), before he moved to Malawi Congress Party (MCP) in 2013.<\/p>\n
Nasaf contested in the first tripartite elections and lost in all presidential and parliamentary seats.<\/p>\n
