Chitipa United have disclosed that they need K70 million to fulfill their TNM Super League assignments for the 2017 season.<\/p>\n
Chitipa, who were promoted from the Simama Premier Division of the Northern Region, have no sponsorship, yet they will also be required to fullfil national cup engagements.<\/p>\n
Chitipa will be using Mzuzu Stadium as their home ground, a distance of about 300 kilometers from their district.<\/p>\n
The club\u2019s General Secretary, Marshall Mwenechanya, said after roping in Rodgers Kamodzi as their Chairperson, the Executive Committee held a meeting early this week.<\/p>\n
Kamodzi replaced George Ndenga who resigned last week due to personal reasons.<\/p>\n
Mwenechanya called for support from well-wishers and investors.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe met as a committee to draw up the budget. We have come up with a budget of K70 million. At the moment, I cannot say \u2018this is how much we have in our coffers.\u2019 We are still looking for the corporate world\u2019s help,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo fulfill all the fixtures is not a joke. To travel from here to Blantyre means that we will be leaving Chitipa on a Wednesday and that means we need to cater for food, accommodation, transport and allowances for the boys.\u201d<\/p>\n
He added that the budget will also cater for the buying of players.<\/p>\n
Mwenechenya said Chitipa will ask Super League of Malawi to allocate some of the team\u2019s games at the newly-built Nthalire Stadium.<\/p>\n
\u201c I know that it is not going to be easy to raise this money, but if we manage to raise the money, I am so sure that we will be a good side,\u201d Mwenechanya added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
