Big-spending Be Forward Wanderers are still busy on the domestic transfer market.<\/p>\n
The Nomads have signed Malawi Under-20 National Football Team midfielder, Fransciso Madinga and defender, Precious Sambani.<\/p>\n
Wanderers\u2019 General Secretary, Mike Butao, Thursday confirmed signing the duo as semi-seniors. The youngsters will be featuring for the senior and reserve teams.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe want to have a squad of 25 senior players and five semi-seniors. We have signed the two kids from Namiwawa FC. We have agreed with Namiwawa officials on a specific transfer deal. Part of the arrangement is that we will be paying for their school fees,\u201d Butao said.<\/p>\n
The coming in of the two players plus the signing of defender, Lucky Malata, from Silver Strikers, could see Wanderers releasing some players.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will release 13 players and these include those who are already out such as Genki Nakamura, the two Nigerians and others who are on loan,\u201d Butao added.<\/p>\n
In recent years, Wanderers have loaned out players such as Precious Msosa (Masters Security FC), Elia Munthali and Mapopa Kaunda (Azam Tigers). Sparrow Msowoya was also loaned out to Max Bullets, who disbanded late last season.<\/p>\n
Fifa rules and regulations are specific on Under-18 players.<\/p>\n
The actual ages of Sambani and Madinga could not be established but they featured for the Junior Flames at the Cosafa Youth Championship which took place in South Africa last December.<\/p>\n
The world football governing body allows the transfer of minors when the buying club provides \u201cguarantee the player an academic and\/or school and\/ or vocational education and\/ or training, in addition to his football education and\/or training, which will allow the player to pursue a career other than football should he cease playing professional football.\u201d<\/p>\n
Article 19 of the Fifa regulations further permit such transfers when the buying club \u201cmake all necessary arrangements to ensure that the player is looked after in the best possible way.\u201d<\/p>\n
The article adds that such transfer is also allowed if \u201cthe player lives no further than 50 kilometres from a national border and the club with which the player wishes to be registered in the neighbouring association is also within 50km of that border.
