{"id":40093,"date":"2017-02-03T10:06:03","date_gmt":"2017-02-03T08:06:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=40093"},"modified":"2017-02-03T10:06:04","modified_gmt":"2017-02-03T08:06:04","slug":"malawi-queens-opponents-in-action","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2017\/02\/03\/malawi-queens-opponents-in-action\/","title":{"rendered":"Malawi Queens\u2019 opponents in action"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While Malawi Netball National Team, the Queens, have slipped into hibernation, their counterparts are in the thick of things.<\/p>\n<p>The Queens\u2019 rivals, South Africa\u2019s Spar Proteas, have been playing against giants such as New Zealand and Australia in an invitational competition dubbed Sanzea.<\/p>\n<p>Malawi were excluded from the invitational competition which derives its name from the first letters of the participants.<\/p>\n<p>The Queens last played competitively at the Fast5 Netball World Series in New Zealand last November and finished on a decent third-place after beating giants such as South Africa and England.<\/p>\n<p>Lack of regular participation in test matches undermines the Queens\u2019 development with the team only resurrecting when there is a competition.<\/p>\n<p>Malawi are ranked sixth in the world and second in Africa behind South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>Australia are the world\u2019s number one team whereas Argentina are the least ranked on position 36 in the world.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>While Malawi Netball National Team, the Queens, have slipped into hibernation, their counterparts are in the thick of things.
