So soon after handing The Miss Heritage Malawi\u2019crown to Tionge Munthali in November last year, the organisers are back on their feet the first action is the dethroning of Muthali.<\/p>\n
One of the organisers, Lorraine Mopiwa Kljaji\u0107, indicates in a statement released on Tuesday that auditions for the 2017 pageant will be held towards the end of February.<\/p>\n
She further indicates that registration has started.<\/p>\n
Miss Heritage Malawi, which was introduced in 2015, was first won by Alinafe Chalunda.<\/p>\n
Last year, the beauty contest, which was held at the Bingu International Convention Centre on November 4, was won by a Malawi Assemblies of God University student Tionge Munthali.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have three phases and Lilongwe will be the first city to run the auditions on February 25 and 26, seconded by Blantyre on March 4 and 5, then Mzuzu on March 11 and 12,\u201d Kljaji\u0107 indicates in the statement.<\/p>\n
Kljaji\u0107 indicates that two days have been reserved for auditions in each city in order to give more girls aged between 18 and 29 years a chance to compete this year.<\/p>\n
In a separate development, the organisers have announced that Miss Heritage Malawi 2016 has been dethroned.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is with regret that we announce that Tionge Munthali is no longer the reigning Miss Heritage Malawi 2016-2017 and the title has been handed over to Madalo Mkuwu, who was the first princess.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Miss Heritage Malawi has the authority to revoke the title from any queen who fails to operate under the organisation\u2019s code of conduct. We congratulate Madalo and are confident she will perform her duties under the Miss Heritage Malawi guiding principles,\u201d the statement says.<\/p>\n
