His club Be Forward Wanderers are in the dark and the player has feigned ignorance, but football agent, Martin Sekati, is convinced that right-back Stanley Sanudi could be on his way to South Africa Absa Premier Soccer League mid-table outfit, Maritzburg United.<\/p>\n
\u201cOnce he comes here, he will, no doubt, sign an outright contract,\u201d said the South African Sekati in a telephone interview from Johannesburg during the week.<\/p>\n
Malawi News had asked Sekati a general question over which other Malawian players could, in this transfer window, follow Miracle Gabeya (Kaizer Chiefs) and Chiukepo Msowoya (Golden Arrows) to South Africa for trials.<\/p>\n
Maritzburg have just hired a new Coach Roger de Sar. It is doubtful if, just a few days after replacing Ernst Middendorp who resigned recently, Sar has recommended the Flames\u2019 player.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is management that wants Sanudi. They have been following him. I have been following him too. He is a very good player,\u201d insisted Sekati who, last year, facilitated the trials of Msowoya at Bidvest Wits and Bloemfontein Celtic.<\/p>\n
Sekati, though, distanced himself from Msowoya\u2019s ongoing trials at Arrows. However, the manner in which Msowoya and his Nyasa Big Bullets\u2019 team-mate Gabeya sneaked out gives weight to the reports linking Sanudi with Maritzburg.<\/p>\n
However, the former Azam Tigers\u2019 player and Wanderers\u2019 General Secretary, Mike Butao, separately during the week, said they were in the dark about Maritzburg\u2019s interest.<\/p>\n
\u201cI do not have any communication from anywhere on Sanudi\u2019s trials. When I do I will respond accordingly. It would be a big loss [if he joined Maritzburg], but we do not stand in a player\u2019s way,\u201d Butao said.<\/p>\n
Sanudi is probably the best right-back locally, he can overlap and defend in a split second using his pace and comfortability playing both legs and dribbling. Height is his only disadvantage.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
