Super League Select side is likely to miss six key players when meeting Kamuzu Barracks in a friendly match at Civo Stadium, Lilongwe on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Super League sponsor, TNM has organised the match as part of celebrations marking the company\u2019s 10-year sponsorship of the domestic elite football league.<\/p>\n
Fans voted for the Select team\u2019s Coach [Yasin Osman] and the players. The voted for players include Stanley Sanudi, Richard Chipuwa (Be Forward Wanderers) Dalitso Sailesi, Yamikani Fodya, Fischer Kondowe (Nyasa Big Bullets) and Lucky Malata (Silver Strikers).<\/p>\n
However, the Select team has faced hiccups due to the absence of key players such as Bullets\u2019 goalkeeper Ernest Kakhobwe, defender Miracle Gabeya and striker Chiukepo Msowoya.<\/p>\n
Wanderers\u2019 Peter Wadabwa, Joseph Kamwendo and Mafco\u2019s hitman, Richard Mbulu, are outside the country.<\/p>\n
Kakhobwe and Mbulu are reportedly training with Mozambican sides Chingale FC and Costol do Sol, respectively.<\/p>\n
Gabeya and Msowoya are in South Africa for trials with Kaizer Chiefs and Golden Arrows, respectively, while Wadabwa and Kamwendo are<\/p>\n

But the Select team\u2019s assistant Coach, Elia Kananji, downplayed the unavailability of these players, saying they will be replaced by those on the stand-by list.<\/p>\n
\u201cAlthough we have been given only two days to prepare, the team will win because the players are still fit as the season has just ended,\u201d Kananji said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am very impressed with the supporters because they have voted the best in the Super League. Of course, missing those players who are outside the country, will affect us.\u201d<\/p>\n
Sulom and TNM will later on tomorrow award teams and players who were outstanding in the just-ended season.<\/p>\n
The winner between the Super League champions and the Select team will pocket K2 million.<\/p>\n
Super League of Malawi Treasurer, Tiya Somba-Banda, said they have put the prize money and a trophy at stake to bring competition between the two teams.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe want to make our league more competitive and exciting. This is happening for the first time in the history of Malawi football.
