{"id":38972,"date":"2017-01-13T09:09:38","date_gmt":"2017-01-13T07:09:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=38972"},"modified":"2017-01-13T09:09:38","modified_gmt":"2017-01-13T07:09:38","slug":"brenda-kadammanja-back-with-new-album","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2017\/01\/13\/brenda-kadammanja-back-with-new-album\/","title":{"rendered":"Brenda Kadammanja back with new album"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Gospel artist Brenda Kadammanja, who announced her arrival on the gospel music scene with the album <em>Patsogolo <\/em>in 2015, has said all is set for the launch of her latest album, <em>Nkhondoyo Yatha<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The artist, who said she started singing after taking heed of the biblical calling to \u201cgo ye to all corners of the world and preach the gospel\u201d, said the noticeable aspect about the new album is that she has joined hands with several artists.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Nkhondoyo Yatha <\/em>will be out on February 1. I have featured artists such as Allan Chirwa, Joseph Tembo, Eliza Mponya, Henry Musupai [Ahento],\u201d Kadammanja said.<\/p>\n<p><em>Nkhondoyo Yatha <\/em>is an Ingoma song, with the artist saying she decided to do an Ingoma song as one way of sticking to tradition.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from <em>Nkhondoyo Yatha<\/em>, other tracks include \u2018Things are getting better\u2019, \u2018Yalula Mphasa\u2019, \u2018Chikondi Chanu\u2019, \u2018Ondisamala Wanga\u2019, \u2018Satana Wagwa Nayo\u2019, \u2018Fulumirani\u2019, \u2018Patsogolo remix\u2019, \u2018Ndikachoka\u2019 and \u2018Akanena Wanena\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The Blantyre-based artist, who was born on July 21 1991 at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre, comes from Dowa.<\/p>\n<p>She is inspired by the music of Brenda Fassie and Zahara.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just love the music of these two artists, despite the fact that their songs may not be gospel songs,\u201d Kadammanja said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI take music as a ministry and I know that it is my calling. Currently, I also work with Project Solutions. For your information, I studied for a bachelor of Business Management,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>On challenges facing the industry, Kadammanja said piracy continues to eat through the gains made by artists.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe main challenges are issues to do with piracy. This is one of the problems hindering progress of my music. As an up-and-coming artist, it is not easy because, most often, one starts from scratch for one\u2019s music to reach out to people.
