Rank Holdings Limited, a Sri Lankan firm which represents a consortium of companies, has expanded into Malawi with the opening of Marina Casino in Lilongwe.<\/p>\n
Chairman, Ravi Wijeratne, said the conglomerate is driven by a corporate vision to identify and thrive within markets that have high sustainable growth potential.<\/p>\n
The opening of the casino in Lilongwe follows the launch of the Marina Beira in Mozambique and Casino Marina in Lusaka, Zambia.<\/p>\n
Rank Holdings Director for Business Development, Nirash Goone Wardena, said the company sees Africa as the next Asia brimming with potential to be a booming economy.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe look and feel of our African establishments are of an oriental and Asian mix that extends the warmth and hospitality that one would expect from these two magnificent continents,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He said that Rank Holdings\u2019 alignment with Africa\u2019s growth story has resulted in the group being able to create 1,000 job opportunities on the continent.<\/p>\n
Chief Director in the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Tourism, Elsie Tembo, described the investment of Rank Holdings as significant for the country.<\/p>\n
