With the TNM Super League on break, Kamuzu Stadium will undergo maintenance in preparation for the 2017 season.<\/p>\n
Stadium Manager, Ambilike Mwaungulu, said the maintenance will involve minor works hence the facility will not be closed.<\/p>\n
\u201cEvery year, during the off-season, we maintain the stadium in several ways. Unless we get direction from the Ministry of Labour, Youth, Sports and Manpower Development to close it, the stadium is still usable,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will start with slashing the grass in and outside the stadium and repair all broken things, including the wire fence and the toilets.\u201d<\/p>\n
He further said the stadium did not experience much damage and vandalism during the 20106 season when compared to the previous campaign.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe should be thankful to the supporters. They have been disciplined. No cases of vandalism or hooliganism have been registered. It was, however, surprising that the only time we witnessed such acts [pitch invasion] was when one team won a cup,\u201d Mwaungulu said.<\/p>\n

Some terraces at the stadium were cordoned off as they were deemed unfit to host supporters.<\/p>\n
