{"id":38364,"date":"2017-01-04T09:52:21","date_gmt":"2017-01-04T07:52:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=38364"},"modified":"2017-01-04T09:52:22","modified_gmt":"2017-01-04T07:52:22","slug":"golfers-cheer-juveniles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2017\/01\/04\/golfers-cheer-juveniles\/","title":{"rendered":"Golfers cheer juveniles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Shankers, a grouping of Lilongwe Golf Club (LGC) players, cheered juveniles at Kachere Rehabilitation Centre in Lilongwe on New Year\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n<p>The group donated assorted items to the juveniles.<\/p>\n<p>The items included soap, meat, sugar and squash.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking after making the donation, spokesperson of the group, Felisah Kilembe, said the gesture was in line withthe group\u2019s objectives of assisting the under-privileged.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBeing the festive season, people spend time with their families. These are vulnerable children, probably they are missing their families, so we wanted to cheer them up,\u201d Kilembe said.<\/p>\n<p>Management of the centre said the donation would alleviate the challenges which the centre faces.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, the group also donated assorted items to Samalani Childhood Centre in Lilongwe.<\/p>\n<p>The group was formed in 2015 on values such as family, friendship, socialisation and team-building.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Shankers, a grouping of Lilongwe Golf Club (LGC) players, cheered juveniles at Kachere Rehabilitation Centre in Lilongwe on New Year\u2019s Day.
