Be Forward Wanderers\u2019 Coach Yasin Osman is convinced that 2016 was a fantastic season for the Nomads, but he insisted that people will be the best judges of his performance.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you ask me how I can rate my performance as a coach since taking over, I will say I don\u2019t know. In the 15 league games the team has played under my management, we have only lost twice and drawn once, so you can be my judge on that,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Osman, who took over from Eddingtone Ng\u2019onamo in October, guided Nomads to a sixth-place finish in the league and Fisd Challenge Cup glory. Ng\u2019onamo and Elia Kananji steered Wanderers to the Carlsberg Cup triumph.<\/p>\n
Osman said the team will, in the next campaign, build on the just-ended season\u2019s success and challenge for the Super League title, which they last won in 2006.<\/p>\n
Nomads rounded off their 2016 TNM Super League campaign with a 1-1 draw against 10- man Mzuni FC at Mzuzu Stadium on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Nigerian Amos Bello headed the Blantyre-based side into the lead in the 48th minute, but substitute Zelliat Nkhoma equalised 20 minutes later.<\/p>\n
This was the third time in a row that Nomads failed to beat Mzuni.<\/p>\n
Mzuni Coach Alex Ngwira, whose side was reduced to 10 men in the 39th minute after defender Khumbo Banda was dismissed for a second bookable offence, conceded that the team\u2019s second-round performance was pathetic.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe campaign had two different halves for us. We started the league very well, sitting at the summit of the league standings for a couple of weeks. The second round was simply pathetic for Mzuni,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
