Youthful golfer Paul Chidale reaffirmed his status as one of the country\u2019s top players after posting 45 points to beat a field of 48 golfers and win this year\u2019s Optichem Fertilisers Golf Tournament played at the Thyolo Sports Club on Sunday.<\/p>\n
\u201cI really enjoyed my game. On Saturday, I also played well at Mbawa Game Haven, therefore, I knew that I would do well in this competition. This victory will help me prepare for more success this year,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
In the ladies\u2019 category, Arnes Araujo emerged winner after beating competition from her closest challenger Lillian Kawaza.<\/p>\n
Optichem general manager, Bobby Singh, said the competition accorded them an opportunity to interact with their customers.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have received a lot of support from the Thyolo Community over the years. We felt it would be a pleasure to be in Thyolo as we do every year. At the same time we thought we could coordinate with the people, interact and also contribute to the development of golf,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cPeople who are sticking to golf should keep on playing.<\/p>\n
Not only does it keep us healthy but it also gives us the sense of how we can join with people, play together and interact.\u201d<\/p>\n
Singh also added that Optichem Fertilizer would continue with the tradition of the annual golf tournament next year.<\/p>\n
