{"id":37999,"date":"2016-12-28T12:46:06","date_gmt":"2016-12-28T10:46:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=37999"},"modified":"2016-12-28T12:46:07","modified_gmt":"2016-12-28T10:46:07","slug":"bingu-stadium-to-host-luso-bonanza-2nd-leg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/12\/28\/bingu-stadium-to-host-luso-bonanza-2nd-leg\/","title":{"rendered":"Bingu Stadium to host Luso Bonanza 2nd leg"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The second leg of the Bus Ipite Bonanza, involving B e Forward Wanderers and Nyasa Big Bullets, will be played at Bingu National Stadium (BNS) in Lilongwe on January 2.<\/p>\n<p>The rematch was slated for Civo Stadium in Lilongwe, but the Ministry of Labour, Youth, Sports and Manpower Development has given organiser, Luso Television, the go-ahead for the match to take place at the facility as part of pre-opening activities.<\/p>\n<p>The actual launch of the stadium is on January 28.<\/p>\n<p>The ministry\u2019s Spokesperson, Simon Mvundula, said the organising committee approved the decision.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe organising committee made a recommendation that the facility should host a game or two before the launch to test the pitch. The match will give us a clear picture of the pitch so that if there are problems on the facility, we can sort them before the launch,\u201d Mvundula explained.<\/p>\n<p>However, Mvundula said the committee was expected to meet Luso TV officials yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Details show that the facility will also host another clash between Silver Strikers and Bullets on January 6.<\/p>\n<p>Luso TV Station Manager, Dick Juma, Tuesday also confirmed that they were finalising arrangements with government to have the match played at the facility.<\/p>\n<p>Wanderers\u2019 vice- Chairperson, Gif t Mkandawire, said it would be an honour to play at the facility.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe wanted to give respect to Bullets, but if we play at BNS then we will be left with no choice but double what we did on Monday,\u201d Mkandawire said.<\/p>\n<p>Bullets\u2019 Team Manager, Rahim Ishmael, promised that his side will turn around the tables at the new facility.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is good news to play at the new stadium, and no doubt, we will pull a shocker in the second leg,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Wanderers are in pole position to win the bus after winning the first leg 3-0, courtesy of Jafali Chande\u2019s brace and Joseph Kamwendo\u2019s goal.<\/p>\n<p>The facility was constructed with a concessional loan from the Chinese Government to the tune of $65 million(about K29 billion) payable in 20 years with a grace period of seven years and an annual interest rate of two percent.<\/p>\n<p>The stadium will be home to Malawi National Football Team, the Flames, after Kamuzu Stadium was certified unfit to host international games.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The second leg of the Bus Ipite Bonanza, involving B e Forward Wanderers and Nyasa Big Bullets, will be played at Bingu National Stadium (BNS) in Lilongwe on January 2.
