Any slip up of either side would mean disaster for them in the title race.

KB Coach, Billy Phambala, has since warned his charges against complacency in their remaining two games, including against Mzuni on December 31.

“We should not get carried away because the race is not yet over,” said Phambala whose side is just six points away from winning their first ever league championship.

KB last won silverware in 2013 when they clinched the Carlsberg Cup.

Karonga are tricky opponents at home. Even more considering that today’s game will determine Karonga’s stay or exit in the league.

Should Karonga rescue a point from the game today, they must hope that Premier Bet Wizards lose to Red Lions in another encounter today in Zomba and that Civo should lose two of their remaining three games.

Karonga Coach, Oscar Kaunda, would like to prove a point that he is still among the best up-and-coming coaches.

“We are still in [the league]. And we are going to fight from the start to finish, because we know that is where our life is. This is a must win game for us. Hopefully, we can do something positive,” Kaunda said.

Karonga, who are smarting from a 5-0 hammering by Silver Strikers last Sunday, have a good home record having defeated Bullets 1-0 and Blue Eagles 2-1 in Mzuzu.

November Player of-the Month, Harvey Nkacha and Davie Banda, will be potential match winners for KB whereas Hygiene Mwendepeka and Khumbo Msowoya are silent assassins for Karonga.

Elsewhere, Bullets can keep their title aspirations alive if they beat Civo today.

Bullets’ Team Manager, Rahim Ishmael, knows the importance of the remaining games.

“Our aim is to defend the title, but Civo want to survive, so it will be a tough match,” Ishmael said.

Despite lying second from bottom with 21 points, Civo’s Captain Nelson Kangunje has refused to throw in the towel.

“We are not down yet.
