Renowned South African Kwaito artist and multi-award winner, Professor of Kalawa Jazmee, is back in Malawi, and is set to perform at Civo stadium in Lilongwe this Saturday.<\/p>\n
The Kwaito star, whose real name is Mkhonzeni Langa, will perform in the country courtesy of Jam Networks, a firm that was established in 2010.<\/p>\n
The Durban-based artist is expected to jet into the country tomorrow, and will be the main act at a show dubbed \u2018Turn Up and Fill the Civo Stadium\u2019.<\/p>\n
Media and Marketing Officer for Jam Networks, Kennedy Mkombezi, said they are leaving no stone unturned to make the show a success.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are very serious about this show. Everything else is paid for as we speak. To show our seriousness, we have bought them air tickets, booked accommodation for them, among other things,\u201d Mkombezi said.<\/p>\n
He brandished the air tickets as evidence.<\/p>\n
Mkombezi said the organisers have borrowed a leaf from festivals and shows, and have learned from the hiccups that have marred a number of shows.<\/p>\n
In previous shows, Professor has been coming with a handful people but this time around he is coming with at least six members of the group.<\/p>\n
Apart from the big tents they will mount at Civo stadium in case of the down pour, Mkombedzi also revealed that Jam Networks intend to use gen sets right from the beginning of the show up to the end of it.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have done it [erecting tents] deliberately because we want everyone to be there and have fun. We want to see people coming with their families and have fun. Thus we have the \u2018godfathers\u2019 of music as well as up-and-coming artists,\u201d Mkombezi said.<\/p>\n
Professor will battle it out with the following Malawian artists: Soldier Lucius Banda and Zembani Band, The 6 Solid Rock Band, The Wailing Brothers, Sir Paul Banda, Ril B, Tay Grin, Nep Man Lulu, Black Jack, Blasto, Thomas Chibade, Mkasa, Beanca, Blaze, Charles Nsaku, Sally Nyundo, Moda and Anold Fumulani, Queen Fayah among others.<\/p>\n
