Hip-hop Artist, Gwamba, full name Duncan Zighambo, has organised a \u2018Feed the Streets Campaign\u2019 exercise in a bid to reach out to some of society\u2019s most vulnerable members.<\/p>\n
Gwamba quit secular music to do what start \u201cRapping for the Lord\u201d in 2015.<\/p>\n
Ironically, while Gwamba only decided to turn gospel last year, he launched his campaign to reach out to the vulnerable in 2013. Under the campaign, he teams up with fellow artists and some of his business affiliates and feeds street children every December. This year\u2019s event is slated for December 21.<\/p>\n
Among other things, the group collects assorted food items and chooses a particular place to eat, drink and celebrate with society\u2019s most vulnerable children.<\/p>\n
Speaking in an interview on Wednesday, Gwamba said: \u201cThe main objective is to share with the children [of Malawi] and we would like to promote the spirit of sharing among the kids.\u201d<\/p>\n
However, Gwamba said other people and organisations can participate in the initiative by donating food, clothes and even attending the event.<\/p>\n
After the Feed the Streets Campaign, the attention will be switched to Bingu International Conference Centre (Bicc), where Gwamba will be launching his gospel album, \u201cJesus, That\u2019s My Boss\u201d, on December 24.<\/p>\n
Gospel artists such as James Nee, Ethel Kamwendo Banda, Thoko Katimba, Onesimus and Emmq will be on song to support Gwamba.<\/p>\n
But Gwamba was mum on reports that the guest artist would be Prophet Shepherd Bushiri, only saying: \u201cCome to the show and see for yourself. For now, let us leave it at that\u201d.<\/p>\n
The album has songs such as \u2018Better\u2019, \u2018Alelluyah\u2019, tracks that are enjoying airplay on local radio and television stations. Other tracks are \u2018Dan\u2019, \u2018God is for Everybody\u2019, \u2018Mfumu Kumwamba\u2019 featuring Dan Lu, \u2018Nzeru\u2019 featuring Maskal and \u2018Heaven\u2019 featuring Klassic.<\/p>\n
On why he has featured more secular artists than those doing gospel music, Gwamba said: \u201cGod is for everybody\u201d.<\/p>\n
The album launch was initially scheduled to take place at Bingu Stadium but the venue was changed to Bicc because the former will not be officially opened until early next year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
