When The Daily Times visited Zomba on Wednesday last week, it found Chayachaya and Bisika shooting the final episodes.

The Game Plan’ is written by Nehemiah Jere but the screenplay has been done by Bright Chayachaya, who is also directing.

However, Chaya chaya observed that, even after covering some ground, there is need to inject extra funds into the project; otherwise, the dream may fall short of reality.

“It is my sincere desire to have this dream come to reality. However the major constraint is finances. We have a small budget but, still, the money that’s available cannot see us through the project,” Chayachaya said.

He implored well-wishers to fund this project so that it may reach its logical conclusion and make Zomba, which should be great, great.

Chaya chaya is not as strange as fiction in artistic productions. Recently, he co-established a theatre group, The International Alliance for University Theatre, with Jere, who is working somewhere.

This year, he was also the director for ‘The Marriage Proposal’, a renowned play written by Anton Chekhov, Russian physician, renowned short story author and playwright. Chekhov was born in 1860 and died in 1904.

For Zomba residents, the creation of humour was supposed to be a familiar thing, what with claims that Zomba-based Chancellor College— University of Malawi— is the cradle of the arts?
