The drastic-resource challenged Zomba Mental Hospital had a big push on Saturday when the Nigerian Community in Malawi donated mattresses, blankets, food items and others.<\/p>\n
According to the group\u2019s spokesperson, Bishop Akinola Fowowe, the donation was part of the grouping\u2019s social responsibility done over the years to selected needy institutions.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd this time around, we noted that Zomba Mental Hospital was one of the institutions that don\u2019t enjoy regular public support in terms of bailing it out of resource challenges. We mobilised our membership and contributed quite a significant sum that has enabled us to buy the assorted consignment of things,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Fowowe, who is also head of the Word Ambassadors Ministries International, prayed for the clients at the hospital, urging them not to lose trust in God and themselves, as they would for sure find themselves healed \u2013 with the combination of excellent medical expertise at the institution and the healing power of God.<\/p>\n
The institution\u2019s Administrator, Wanja Njaidi, hailed the Nigerian Community for rescuing his institution.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a referral hospital for mental institutions in the country. All people with mental disorders who cannot be treated in other institutions are referred here. So you can imagine that we need a lot of resources to take care and treat our clients. What you have donated will go a long way to alleviate the problems we encounter and indeed make ease the life of our clients,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
