{"id":36854,"date":"2016-12-05T12:56:06","date_gmt":"2016-12-05T10:56:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=36854"},"modified":"2016-12-05T12:56:06","modified_gmt":"2016-12-05T10:56:06","slug":"writer-ekari-mbvundula-out-with-first-e-book","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/12\/05\/writer-ekari-mbvundula-out-with-first-e-book\/","title":{"rendered":"Writer Ekari Mbvundula out with first e-book"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Female writer Ekari Mbvundula is out with her first e-book for a short story titled <em>Montague\u2019s Last<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Mbvundula said this is a short story about a Chewa slave, who is seeking redemption by completing his final invention.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt describes what he physically and mentally goes through to complete the task,\u201d Mbvundula said.<\/p>\n<p>Mbvundula said she decided to produce an e-book to move with technology, adding that she wanted it in a format which would be easy to add to modern book collections [digital libraries].<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would also like to gain new readers of Malawian books. By the time my novel comes out, there will be a good fan base,\u201d Mbvundula said.<\/p>\n<p>She also said that the artwork was done by Simon Banda, a young designer, who she said was doing amazing work.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is a touch of fantasy in the story and this can be seen through the cover art,\u201d Mbvundula said.<\/p>\n<p>Ekari wrote on her Facebook page that she was very excited to get her first e-book<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no other feeling like getting my first e-book, now available on Amazon, published,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Female writer Ekari Mbvundula is out with her first e-book for a short story titled Montague\u2019s Last.
