I better leave. This thing about keeping quiet just because you are a senior player has led to the team\u2019s decline. It hurts watching the team struggle when you know you can play better,\u201d said the dreadlocked winger.<\/p>\n<p>Kondowe, who is no stranger to controversies, threw a water bottle backwards while walking past Bullets\u2019 technical bench after being dragged off for McFarlen Ngwira in the second-half of the TNM Super League second round match.<\/p>\n<p>He insisted that his performance did not warrant the substitution, adding that failure to feature players on merit was behind the team\u2019s decline in form.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo be honest with you, I was very unhappy on Sunday. The team is struggling and more than anyone else, I get the flak from bitter fans on the street. Whenever, we struggle against teams such as Red Lions and Karonga United, like we did recently, I become a laughing stock in town. We cannot be struggling against teams such as Karonga,\u201d Kondowe insisted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI train hard so as to play in a manner that gives our fans value for their money. On Sunday, we were up against a team that talked tough before the game and I wanted us to punish Mafco with a 4-0 or 5-0 defeat. But how do they respect us when we struggled to beat them?.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bullets\u2019 Team Manager, Rahim Ishmael and Captain, Chiukepo Msowoya, yesterday separately said they were likely to meet over Kondowe\u2019s reaction to the substitution.<\/p>\n<p>Bullets\u2019 Assistant Coach, Elia Kananji, yesterday insisted that he did not witness Kondowe\u2019s reaction but heard from another assistant coach, Mabvuto Lungu that the winger threw a water bottle towards the direction of Ishmael.<\/p>\n<p>But Kondowe said he does not have time to discuss the issue with the technical panel, adding that \u201cI do not play for friendship but to win and please the fans.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>From engaging in a fist-fight with the then Bullets chief supporter, Isaac White, training briefly with rivals, Be Forward Wanderers, after being chased from the training ground by another fan, Isaac Osman, and being dropped at the airport from the Africa Cup of Nations-bound Flames\u2019 squad, Kondowe is synonymous with controversies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nyasa Big Bullets\u2019 temperamental winger, Fischer Kondowe, whose militant displays epitomise the People\u2019s Team\u2019s character, has justified his bitter reaction to his substitution during Sunday\u2019s match against Mafco at Kamuzu Stadium. \u201cFor the past two years, I have been subjected to unfair decisions by some people.
