Silver Strikers will wait a little longer to re-sign forward Chawanangwa Kawonga as his former Mozambican team, Chibuto FC, is yet to release his clearance.<\/p>\n
The Bankers want to re-sign the forward in a bid to address a goal- drought that threatens their TNM Super League championship pursuit.<\/p>\n
The club\u2019s General Secretary, Thabo Nyirenda, said it was unlikely that the forward will feature for Silver this season.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are keeping our fingers crossed that he should be cleared to start playing for us. But he might not play for us until next season,\u201d Nyirenda said.<\/p>\n
Nyirenda was optimistic that the team, which is placed fifth on the log table with 44 points from 25 games, would soon find its rhythm.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe coaches have our full backing and we know that the problems will be sorted out,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
In six consecutive games, Silver have only scored two goals.<\/p>\n
Silver\u2019s Assistant Coach, Lovemore Fazili, said he was equally puzzled by the lack of goals in the final stages of the season.<\/p>\n
