Fashion will be the main headliner tonight during a red carpet event at Bingu International Conference Centre Umodzi Park in Lilongwe dubbed Malawi Celebrity Fashion Night to be graced by wife to the country\u2019s Vice President Mary Chilima.<\/p>\n
The event is special as the audience is set to be treated to a pot of activities with renowned fashion designer Lily Alfonso and Ghanaian actor and designer John Dumelo set to display their designs.<\/p>\n
Fresh from I am Fashion Weekend in Amsterdam, Netherlands where she attracted attention, Alfonso is now set to show her designs on the home soil.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am excited with this event and I call upon people to come in large numbers. It\u2019s a special night in that we will also have John Dumelo showing her designs. This is a night of fashion and I am even happy because it\u2019s happening a week after showing my designs in Netherlands,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Alfonso has since called on fellow designers to grace the occasion. Dumelo, who also visited Zambia, arrived in the country on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Born on February 3, 1984, the Ghanaian actor who was nominated for categories of Most Promising Actor and Best Actor in a Supporting Role during the 6th and 7th Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) is also into fashion designing having launched his JMelo\u00a0Clothing Line.<\/p>\n
The actor said through social network that he is excited to be in Malawi. \u201cHello Malawi…meet me this Friday (tomorrow) at the Presidential hotel, BICC at 6pm….I\u2019m in love with Malawi already…. Bwerani Nonse!,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The fashion event is expected to be spiced up by performances from among others former Big Brother Africa (BBA) Hotshots representatives Sipherile Chitambo alias Sipe, Tay Grin, Q Malewezi and Gwamba.<\/p>\n
