{"id":35914,"date":"2016-11-21T10:51:24","date_gmt":"2016-11-21T08:51:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=35914"},"modified":"2016-11-21T10:51:24","modified_gmt":"2016-11-21T08:51:24","slug":"pil-donates-to-bwaila-hospital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/11\/21\/pil-donates-to-bwaila-hospital\/","title":{"rendered":"PIL donates to Bwaila Hospital"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>P<\/strong>IL has donated medical equipment worth K5 million to Bwaila Hospital in Lilongwe as a corporate social responsibility drive.<\/p>\n<p>Making the donation, PIL General Manager, Enwell Kadango, described the gesture as a demonstration of his company\u2019s commitment to support the promotion of health service delivery in the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese medical items will put a smile on our health workers\u2019 faces. Our company understands that in Malawi, it is a common sight to see hospitals operating on a thin budget yet they still remain committed to helping patients,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Kadango then asked other companies to help the country in implementing the Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) through planned corporate social responsibility initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPIL has committed itself to working together with government in its effort to improve health service delivery with hope that our intervention will alleviate the problem of limited resources,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Lilongwe District Health Officer, Alinafe Mbewe, said the gesture will go a long way in simplifying service delivery at the facility.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe donation that we have received today will help us a lot since we lack basic equipment since we help a lot of people.
